On Thursday I was in St. George, Utah. I took the opportunity to go to nearby Snow Canyon State Park. This is such a beautiful area of Utah. Everywhere you turn there is a photo opportunity. The location this photo is taken at is called the Petrified Sand Dunes. This red rock formation has taken on the look of wind swept sand dunes. I was excited to go to this place because the night before we arrived there was a heavy rainstorm. I was looking for signs of the water in this desert area. This area is host to the white rocks. This is the formation at the top of the photo. There is several lava flows, and red sandstone everywhere. This is a spectacular looking state park.
