I was talking with a friend the other day and he commented that he liked this photo taken in December. It was the place he proposed to his wife in the winter. The only thing that was different was the last post of this photo had much more color to the snow. He said I don’t remember it being that dirty looking when I proposed. The “dirty” look to the snow came from all the detail that was pulled out of the snow by processing the photo as an HDR. I decided to go back and process this as a simple one exposure photo. I actually like this one better. The snow is whiter, the ice is cleaner, and the color is very natural in this photo. Yet at the same time it still has some color in areas of the ice formations.
